The Saddest Landscape guys have started recording a new record at New Alliance Studios in Boston, MA on November 5, with producer John Taft, who they collaborated with on their last album, 2010’s You Will Not Survive.
Here’re some updates we’ve gotten from the band while in the studio:
How the hell does your singer play guitar and sing at the same time? It's easy to sing over basic chords and stuff, but your songs sound like a lot is going on guitar-wise. Help! I want to be able to to the same.
Live I think he wishes he didn’t have to so he could attack more people and break more shit :)
Such bummer news. If you are able to help them out financially or can just reblog and spread the word for them, please do. These guys welcomed us with open arms when we came to Vegas this past summer. Their hospitality and friendliness went a long way in turning around a pretty miserable day for us and calculator after spending the day of the day show breaking down in the desert in 110 degree heat lol. It was their first hometown show in months and the place was packed for them but they purposely didn’t bring any merch to sell as they wanted to persuade kids to by merch from the touring bands instead. They left a lasting impression on us for how to treat touring bands right. Oh and their music rules.
Hey all, a bit of unfortunate news. Our van is currently stationed outside an auto shop in Gallup, New Mexico. We broke down late last night on the way to the second show of tour in Albuquerque. After consulting various mechanics around town, there appears to be a crack in one of the gasket heads,…
Bought some new records over the weekend when we needed a break from working on our new lp. I’m the oddball in the band in that i don’t listen to a lot of screamo, or skramz as the kidz say, but i fucking love me some daitro. Y is my jam. I think this is their first record? I’m not sure but i love this band and i especially love their drummer, which leads me to purchase #2, mihai edrisch (don’t ask me how to pronounce it, have no idea. had to look at the record cover just to type it correctly)- andy persuaded me to buy it because it’s most of daitro sans a member or two. What i heard so far is pretty good, but i need to spend more time with it. Lastly, I got Breather Resist Charmer, mostly on the suggestion of Eric our guitar player because he’s obsessed with this band and record. I heard them a long time ago when it first came out and wasn’t too into it but years have passed, I stopped listening to nu-metal, and hear I am. a new man. Very botchy, very minor times. Glad he pushed me to get it. Parting thought- how sweet is that packaging?
It’s been a while since I’ve done an actual post, but I finished up my Hot Cross discography recently, and I figured I show it off. Really great band. Guitar playing is top notch. A lot of noodley harmonies when they still had two guitars going along with catchy and poignant lyrics it’s a compete package. I listen to these records on the regular.
P.S. If anyone wants to trade their orange Risk Revival for my yellow copy shoot me a message.
Looking forward to seeing you guys in London on January 12th. Saw Her Breath... at The Grosvenor, South London, with Backstabbers Inc a few years back, great show, any idea if you'll being playing there on this trip to the capital?
oh wow. backstabbers were so fucking good. unfortunately not sure yet about grosvenor- i think some of the venues are still being finalized but we’ll post the details here when we have them. thanks!
will you be restocking your merch anytime soon? cause i'd really like to rep one of my favorite bands. haha
unfortunately not, sorry! everything except for YWNS and the recent splits are gone. We have a handful of shirts left but that is it for a bit. Topshelf will probably have some new shirts in their store soon though
well i found a way to get to the leeds show next year, but because i havent passed my driving test yet my nan is coming along. she might be 60 but she can still hang with the best of them. as weird as this is im so excited to see you next year. thanks for the tour and good luck!
Since I’m having a Pianos Become The Teeth-fever today, I thought I’d share this little beauty that I proudly own. The Saddest Landscape/Pianos Become The Teeth - Split 9” with a beautiful etching on one side. 607 copies made.
