On Twitter? We ramble on about music there too: http://twitter.com/saddestlndscape

so i just added a bunch of new items to our store, including new shirts. we also finally got our copies of the 7” version of our split w/ pianos become the teeth. as well as the we were skeletons splits. i also made up a limited super package that you get all the new stuff as well as some posters/patches/stickers etc that are only available in this pack.
also we are down to about the last 10 copies of the cover your heart pressing of the you will not survive LP, so if you are into gatefolds, bonus CD’s, and silver vinyl this is your last chance.
and only a very small handful of discography LPs then that one will be out of print completely, and we have no plans to repress.
very very low on all her breath on glass records too.

Here’s one that hits close to home. These guys are the sweetest dudes you’ll ever meet on top of being amazing musicians. The first time I saw Native was at This Is Ours Fest 2008 in Illinois, and every time since they get better and better. I love all the subtle intricate guitar work, the beats that go from dancey to off time, and Bobby’s voice wraps this all up in a perfect package. I love this band.

The folks at Rock Sound did another interview which is in the physical copy of the magazine this month. They also talk about you- the nice people that support what we do.

Since Andy and Aaron posted what they got for Record Store Day I figured I’d jump on the bandwagon.
Alright, listen internet, we need to have a little chat. I don’t really care about exclusives. There was only one that I bought, one that I wanted and couldn’t find (Discordance Axis - Inalienable Dreamless), and I didn’t know about that Green Day/ Husker Du split until after I got home, but my friend and I drove out to our favorite record store and I bought some goodies to celebrate none-the-less.
Here’s my haul:

All in all a good day. Really stoked on some of these as I’ve been meaning to get them for a while. I was even more stoked that I was still in bed sleeping rather than waiting in line in the rain like many of my friends. Hope the rest of you made out well with or without exclusives.

If there’s such a thing as record karma, my band mates will go to vinyl heaven. They’ll probably all die trapped in a record store that’s burning down and won’t leave because they’re still picking through stuff. But they’ll still go to heaven. While I made a valiant attempt at going to Generation Records in NYC for RSD, I overslept and got fucked in the massive line and had to bail before getting to buy anything. Vinyl is awesome, but the lady comes first and it was her bday/our anniversary. So in an attempt to be the best boyfriend possible and also not get my balls chopped off, I left Generation defeated and headed back up town. However, Andy continued collecting karma points and managed to pick up all 3 of the records I wanted the most. I saw him this weekend and got the records last night, so technically yesterday was Record Store Day for me:
1) Nirvana: Hormoaning
One of my favorite bands since I was a kid. Glad I didn’t drop $150 on ebay for this (not like I was going to), but it seemed for a minute there that I wasn’t going to get my hands on this. Alas, Andy prevailed.

2) Fucked Up: David’s Town
I haven’t gotten a chance to listen to this, but the new F’d Up songs I’ve heard so far off their upcoming full length are incredible. I didn’t think it would be possible to top chemistry but from what I’ve heard, I think they’re going to pull it off.

3) P.O.S./William Elliott Whitmore split 7”
Init deserves a pat on the back. What a fucking cool idea for a split. 2 artists that couldn’t sound further from each other if they tried, yet each are awesome and somehow this makes sense. I’ve never listened to too much P.O.S. but Doomtree are incredible. Whitmore is easily my favorite singer/songwriter (it’s a travesty that he isn’t huge). Go see this man if he ever comes through your city/town. Buy all of his records.

hey man we have nothing planned at the moment but are always trying to figure out a way to get to other parts of the states and beyond. Hopefully soon!
nothing right now but we would love to come there! one day, we will be there.
we should know all of them sometime in the coming week. will def post them up here.
sorry! not going to be able to do Idaho this time but we will definitely make it there.
Our buddy The New & Very Welcome is releasing a 7” of Saddest Landscape covers. The link will take you to a song stream and ordering details.
We’re not sure yet, but if/when it does it’ll get posted. I have a feeling someone will rip it at some point as well.
So pop punk is pretty hit or miss with me. I don’t stray to far from the classics (Dookie, Through Being Cool, etc., etc). But Fairweather played a style of pop punk in the vein of old Saves The Day, but added more aggression. I really love the drums on this record, but I can chalk that up to the fact that Pat from Majority Rule played drums on this and recorded at the same studio as Interviews With David Frost. Guitar work on this is really great too. Really great record, check it out.
