We subscribe to the philosophy of keeping it short and sweet and hopefully leaving people wanting more… instead of having it be too long and overstaying our welcome. nobody needs an hour long record from us, i promise :)
Also the 7 number has no significance, all the times we did a record it oddly just ended up feeling complete after writing 7 songs.
I’ve slept on these guys for a few years now. Not sure what finally inspired me to check it out but it’s so good! I’ve only heard this one so I don’t have much to compare it to, but there’s a STRONG Dillinger 4 Civil War vibe going on which is an awesome thing in my eyes. A little Dear Landlord too, but more polished and less rough around the edges than either of the aforementioned bands. Good shit! Pick it up HERE.
Code Orange Kids: Cycles
A bunch of people have been freaking out about these guys recently. Finally I got real curious and ordered this from Mayfly records. This is great stuff and I see why everyone is excited. Reminds me of Dangers in the sense that it’s just fucking pissed off, straight for the jugular hardcore. Not that age matters, and these guys are great regardless, but I also have to say I’m impressed by how damn young these guys are. I think they’re like 17… I just thought back to the music I was making at 17 with my friends and shuttered at the thought of how incredibly bad it was. Anyway, they just put up a 2nd press which you can snag HERE.
I’m not Andy but regardless, thanks for the tip anonymous! I had NO idea that after keeping this going for close to a decade that you can’t get “rich and famous” playing this style of music!!! Fuck, I think i need to reevaluate why I play music with my good friends because I love doing it and love hanging out with them and love the personal release and pleasure it gives me after working 70+ hours a week to support myself OUTSIDE of playing in a band. I/we must be doing it all wrong.
Topshelf has 1 extra copy of the After the Lights 1st press orange w/ black left in the store now plus only 2 copies of the new half red/half clear repress color. So if you want either, now’s the time:
You guys don’t mess around with your vinyl. Records only been technically out for a few days but all the LP’s are gone as of today. Topshelf just posted up a 2nd pressing of it on some new colors HERE.
so while we appreciate greatly all of you who ordered the new LP direct from topshelf (and encourage you to still do so), we realize that some of you like supporting us directly and have been long time mail order customers of ours, so with that in mind we are offering After the Lights direct from us, along with a couple different package deals.
we only have a limited amount, and sadly can not promise any vinyl colors, but we will send you the rarest variant we have at the time.
but to make it up to you, we wanted to do something special and give you one last chance to get one of the flasks. we have 2 left that we saved for this, so what we are doing is randomly inserting them in the next 50 orders, so while not being a statistics expert i think that makes your chances 1 in 25 to be drinking on the go in style.
and the orders will all come with the usual extra free stuff, posters, stickers, buttons, random CDs, and if you want late valentines dedications we can do that too.just put it in the comment section of your order.
oh and i finally got around to making covers for the last 5 copies of the her breath 6” so that is back in stock, the covers are slightly different, but only slightly so it is not really worth getting if you already own it, but still different. but this will be it, then the record is gone.
After the Lights is available everywhere today! Woo! All pre-orders and advance downloads of the record have been sent out so keep an eye on your mailbox / inbox! In celebration of the release, we’ve got a pretty awesome video to unveil. Here’s a few words from the band about it:
I asked the question about splits and aaron responded with "this is aaron, i play drums. I honestly am stumped on this one because everyone i can think of that i’d want to do it with has already released something on vinyl. Who do YOU think we should do it with? help a guy out here" 2 people replied Rookie Town and I would agree that it would be really cool if you did a split with Rookie Town but they're my friends so I'm biased. leer. or vowel would be cool too.
Not familiar but always looking for new music. Do you have a link?
Random question of curiosity: If you could do a split with any band that is active but has not released anything on vinyl yet who would it be and why? Also who please say who answered.

You have no idea how pumped i am for this release. Plenty of appreciation over here in Australia. Are you guys ever considering coming over? Cause i know the La Dispute and Touche guys come over here heaps, so getting a good show will be easy for you!
Thanks! We will come there, we’d all love to. It just won’t be for a bit.
what does a guy gotta do to bring you guys to buffalony.
help us find rare records missing from our collections. but no seriously, we want to come there, want to come everywhere. It’s just not very easy for us to travel. but actually the rare records thing might actually work.
